where the guild-specific RoC/RoE conflicts with Common RoC/RoE, members of the guilds will be expected to follow the Guild RoC/RoE.
The Common rules are the ones you can expect other guilds to follow, but the Guild Specific Rules only apply to members of BrBc/NBTC
--------------------------------
CATSKILLS COMMON
ROC (rules of conduct)
1. Do not break character unless in an appropriate setting
2. Separate I.C. from O.O.C. to the best of your ability. (e.g. personal grudges, frustrations, out of character knowledge, and game mechanics)
3. Legitimate complaints should be taken to your GM.
4. No out of character house magics
RoE (rules of Engagement)
1. No Looting
2. Any Killing on Sight (KoS) must be approved by target or associated GM
3. If a player falls in a conflict, he must wear his death shroud for 30 minutes after the moment of death. The player must abstain from combat and or provocation for 30 minutes. The defeated must react in accordance to their defeat.
4. Characters in death shroud may not be attacked.
5. Survivors should insure the fallen return to their corpse.
6. If it is evident that your opponent is not present at his keys or disconnected, you must cease combat immediately
7. Banks and logout points (e.g. inns and homes) are safe zones unless otherwise stated or implied.
8. Players may not participate in battles involving guilds that are not highlighted (at war with) with exception to Felucca.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guild Specific RoC/RoE
0. RESPECT YOUR FELLOW ROLEPLAYERS
---
1. Artifacts are not allowed unless there is a good IC reason that the GM has approved as being a good reason.
---
2. Do not KoS unless it has been arranged previously (Assassinations, for example).
---
3. You must make sure your target is not AFK or otherwise incapable of responding.
---
4. Remain In Character at all times. Failure to do so will result in punishment by the GM.
---
5. Emote Fighting IS accepted. HOWEVER, power emoting and god modding is NOT.
"*Kicks the man in the shin and knees him in the face*" is Power Emoting.
"*Attempts to kick the man in the shin, then knee him in the face*" is NOT.
This allows your opponent a chance to react. Also, acting like your character wouldnt take any hits at all will be considered god modding (unless there is a good IC reason. It is suggested that you inform your opponent of this through an IC emote, or by partying them).
---
6. Your character does not see that name and guild tag. You do not know that John(S^S) is a member of S^S, or that his name is John. You know only what your character has found out through RPed experience.
---
7. Any breaches in this RoCE are to be reported to the GM as soon as possible. Do not attempt to set things right youself, inform your GM and give them the name of the person and the person's guild. If you do not know the person's guild name, give them the tag.
---
8. You may only steal items that have been placed in a Bright Red Bag by the victim. Looting is NOT acceptable. If you want to take something from your fallen opponent, wait for them to return to gather their things, party them, and ask.
---
9. If you die in a fight, you may not log onto another character to aid either side in the fight. You may, however log onto a different character (but not continue the fight). If you are attacked while on the second character you may defend yourself, but you may not start another fight until the normal 30 minutes has passed after you died on the 1st character.
---
10. In the event of 3rd party interferance, including but not limited to Blue Healing, Threat of Looting (felucca), and attack by a 3rd party (reds, PKs, etc...does not include other RPers), you are to emote something to the effect of "*cease*" and end combat immediately.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules of Naval Engagement
1. Due to the fact that Metal sinks, metal armor will be frowned upon in naval combat.
---
2. When you have defeated every member of an enemy crew, you have taken their ship. When this happens, it is suggested that the Captains of the two ships contact each other via Party Chat, ICQ, AIM, etc. and negotiate whether or not the ship will be kept by the victor or returned to the defeated OOCly. Either way, the defeated crew must be rezzed and allowed to gather it's belongings. If the victor is keeping the ship, the defeated crew must be returned to land.
---
3. Taking prisoners is acceptable, but it is suggested that you contact the prisoner(s)-to-be OOCly (Party Chat, ICQ, etc.) and ask permission.
---
4. Catskills Common RoE/RoC STILL APPLIES IN NAVAL COMBAT
